EVENTS
In Conversation: Rebecca Brewer and Sharon Arnold
Saturday, April 11, 2020
2:00 – 3:30 pm
Location
Frye Auditorium
Join me and artist Rebecca Brewer in conversation about the undercurrents and subtleties of Brewer's solo exhibition, Natural Horror. Of particular interest will be Brewer's use of color, form, research, and intuition. The discussion will also expand on ideas of labor, interior versus exterior experiences, and exchanges of information in both the work itself and the audience who engages with it. More details and registration over at the Frye Art Museum!

CLASSES
I co-teach a variety of drop-in classes with Madrona House founder Vanessa Ainslie, such as our monthly Plant Medicine Lab; two-week intensives around subjects such as divination and plant allies; and a twice-yearly four-week Ancestor Restorative Practices course. All classes are held live via Google Meets, then available online with a recording and lecture materials afterwards! Here's what's coming up this spring:
Burdock Plant Medicine Lab
Nettle Plant Medicine Lab
Open enrollment/ongoing as online classes.
Plant Medicine Lab is a fun 2 hour introduction to various plants with a focus on practical application and relationship-building. Each class features a 45 minute lecture which may include a combination of history, folklore, physiological actions, and energetics; as well as some medicinal, esoteric, and culinary uses. After the lecture we’ll make something you can take home, and we’ll end the class with a relaxing guided meditation to complete the experience! Included is an online list of books and resources we use and recommend, and a Western and Ayurvedic glossary of terminology, properties, and constituents.
Cost : $15-$35 sliding scale.
